Group Therapy
Next group begins January 2025
Group therapy is an immersive process for exploring how we feel about ourselves and the people we relate to. Under the surface of our interactions are emotions, memories, impulses, and sensations that govern our behavior. In group, we practice putting these experiences, thoughts, and feelings into words and we study what gets in the way of doing so. This facilitates meaningful exchanges with other group members and the group leader.
Group process provides radical opportunities for connection within our individualistic culture. This is an excellent option for those who wish to:
• improve the quality of their relationships
• release shame
• find their voice
• emerge from isolation
• heal wounds from family and culture
• access greater depth and meaning in their lives
• cultivate greater tolerance for difference and difficult emotions
Nuts and Bolts
Therapy groups meet once a week for 80 minutes and are ongoing. If you are interested in joining, please reach out. We will plan for two individual sessions before the group begins, which will give us the chance to get acquainted, discuss your interest in group, and cover any questions you may have. Together we can make an informed decision as to whether group is right for you at this time.
For some, having individual therapy accompany group therapy is the ideal combination. If you’re a therapist with a client you’d like to refer to group, please reach out—I love to collaborate with other therapists.
