About Jocelyn
I've been fascinated by most things for as long as I can recall—always curious and ready to learn more about the layers of who we are, how we are, and the ways we perceive the world. Over twenty years ago, I began a career in massage and structural therapy and spent a decade working to help folks feel better in their bodies. I've been a student of meditation for over fifteen years, which influences how I show up to the relationship and process of therapy.
I bring careful listening, aliveness, spontaneity, and creativity to our sessions. My intention is to always come to our relationship full of respect, presence, and openness. It is a high honor to collaborate with people as they navigate life, with all its pangs, pleasures, and plateaus.
My practice is rooted in ongoing consultation, supervision, and continuing education. I am LGBTQIA enthusiastic, transformative justice oriented, and I collaborate with the fine folks at Holistic Resistance for relational-based anti-racism mentorship. In addition to practicing therapy, I am one half of the collaborative art duo, Abacus Corvus.
I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and post-graduate certificates in Expressive Arts Therapy and Systemic Multicultural Counseling. My clinical internship was served at Our VOICE, where I provided individual and group counseling to primary and secondary survivors of sexual violence.
